Welcome to 2022

As the new President of the Suffolk Estate Planning Council, I would like to welcome you to 2022 and wish you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year!  The Suffolk County Estate Planning Council is looking forward to another amazing year with our lineup of five-star speakers and topics (see calendar of events).  As in the past, our monthly meetings will continue to offer presentations to our members from industry leaders about planning techniques, current events and shared experiences pertaining to the many disciplines in the world of estate planning.  These meetings will continue to be in our revised format via Zoom until we can safely return to in person again, where we will then have the opportunity to network with friends and colleagues.  We plan to continue to offer the Zoom format even when we return to live meetings for those that may not be able to attend a meeting in person.

Our chapter has flourished over the past two years thanks to our past President, Kim Smith, and our amazing Board.  As a result of the Board’s hard work, our chapter was honored as the recipient of the Council of Excellence Award in 2021 and the Five Star Council Award in both 2019 and 2020.  It is an amazing accomplishment for our Council to be honored with these prestigious awards over the past three years.

The key to continued success of the Suffolk Estate Planning Council is in our membership, which we strive to continue to grow.  I would like to ask each member to bring at least one new person this year to attend one of our events so they can see first-hand the benefits of membership.

As a reminder, if you have not done so already, please renew your membership as soon as possible through this website.  While visiting the website please also review and update your profile to ensure that it is accurate and up to date.

As always, if you have any ideas for future topics, speakers, new members, and/or sponsors please feel free to reach out and let me or one of our Board members know.  We look forward to another year of serving our colleagues in the estate planning profession as well as our clients.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey F. Gibralter, President
